The Alpha Phi Alpha Charitable Foundation, Inc. was created on August 10, 2007 to operate exclusively for the purposes of supporting any charitable, scientific, or educational activity of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.  This Foundation is the manifestation of the Fraternity’s Strategic Plan Goal #4.4 which mandates the development of additional income streams and charitable gifts to GUARANTEE the fiscal solvency of the Fraternity in perpetuity.  

APAcf is a separate legal entity from the Fraternity and provides the security and protection of assets from any potential future legal action brought against the Fraternity.  

The Foundation’s initial endowment strategy calls for all brothers, especially Life Members, to purchase a whole-life insurance policy from North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company and to donate the policy to the Foundation by making the Foundation the owner and beneficiary of the policy.  The monthly premium payments are tax-deductible subject to IRS Income Limitations.
